'The man with the STEREO hands' is the musical alter ego of Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist - Neil Dwerryhouse.
The name comes from a song written by good friend Rex Stinson, guitarist from nineties indie-pop shoe-gazers STRAWBERRY STORY, a band that recruited Neil as an unofficial fifth member to provide catchy keyboard riffs and extra guitar, both Live and in the studio.
'The Man with the Stereo Hands' was released as a 4 track E.P. on Vinyl Japan records in 1992 and features a caricature of Neil on the Front cover. Some have suggested that the actual song is about him, but this has yet to be confirmed or denied.
From an early age Neil has been writing and composing music and has played in dozens of bands over the years. Most notably in the 1990s supplying Space echo driven Guitar for MARK BURGESS & THE SONS OF GOD, on tour in the UK, Germany, North America and in the studio on the album PARADYNING (1995) where a co-writing credit appears on the song 'ADRIAN BE'.
The band featured MARK BURGESS and JOHN LEVER from post-punk cult Manchester band THE CHAMELEONS, and the touring Live set consisted mainly of Chameleons classics together with rare tracks such as 'The Healer' that had never been played Live before.
Two SONS OF GOD Live CD albums were released, 'Live in Manchester' and 'Spring blooms tra-la', if you are lucky you may still find these for sale on ebay but they are now increasingly rare. Both recordings wrongly credit guitarist Neil as NEIL FINN. This obvious mistake has been explained away by some unknown person mis-hearing his stage name at the time which was actually Neil THIN.
After disappearing into the musical wilderness, he returned to play Live in front of an audience for the first time in eight years at an open mike night in 2006. This performance led to gig bookings and a Singalong set of classic new wave, punk and indie cover versions delighted audiences for being something a very different to the usual one man act.
In 2007 a 13 track retrospective CD album of original solo recordings was released and sold via the STEREOHANDS website and is now a collectable rarity.
In addition to writing and recording new material in the studio, Neil is currently in the process of putting a new band together with a view to playing new original material Live with a full 4 piece band.
